While oil supply sources are expected to be increasingly diversified to include heavier and unconventional crude oils, both the growth in the demand for lighter petroleum products and the decrease in the demand for heavy oils have been accelerated. In response to these situations, JPEC’s research and development have been focusing on innovative oil refining technologies for converting heavy oils to gasoline and distilled oil for transportation as well as to high-value-added petrochemical feedstocks.
